Isis Rose

Isis gathered the scattered body of her husband and reassembled it. She is not the goddess of softness; she is the goddess of putting things back together, which is a harder and less decorative kind of power.

Isis Rose is built on a Turkish rose absolute deep enough to carry that reading — never candied, never girlish. Pink pepper sharpens the opening, orris lends the powdered weight of temple linen, and sandalwood and benzoin keep the whole composition standing upright long after the flowers have gone quiet.
