Nile Absolue

The Nile is not scenery. It is the reason there was anything to build, and every civilisation that rose on its banks organised itself around a flood it could predict but never control.

Nile Absolue opens green and wet — papyrus, an aquatic accord, a bruised violet leaf — before Haitian vetiver pulls the composition down into silt and root. The drydown is dark musk and driftwood: the river at night, moving past you in the dark.
